Kurt Cobain Name Will Become Bridges and Public Parks?

The members of the City Council on Kurt Cobain's hometown, Aberdeen, Washington, USA, is considering the possibility that Nirvana frontman honor by naming a public park over the bridge and small with his name.

The Washington Post reports that the Aberdeen City Council is conducting a poll of local residents about the proposal. The plan before making a decision meeting will be held on 27 July.

Meeting, will discuss the possibility of re-naming the Young Street Bridge, located on the Wishkah River, using the name of the grunge music icon. A small public park named after Cobain's Landing is also a possibility.

Although Cobain was the most famous people in the history of the city of Aberdeen, some residents have voiced their rejection of this honor. This is because according to some residents, the Cobain has close links with drug abuse, suicide, and the negative comments he gave about his own hometown.

Selection of these two places is not without cause, because the name of the Young Street Bridge are listed by one of Cobain on Nirvana's song, "Something in the Way". Regarding the Wishkah River, Cobain had admitted that he often slept in the river area. The river also has become a pilgrimage destination of the huge fan of Nirvana.

Earlier this year, a sculpture shaped Cobain's signature guitar, the Fender Jag-Stang, who designed his own by incorporating forms of Cobain with a Fender Jaguar and Fender Mustang, has been established in Aberdeen.
